Symphony for Cornwall
is a new work by Andrew Hugill,
commissioned by Orchestral Development Devon & Cornwall and funded by the
Arts Council of England's 'New
Audiences Programme' for the Bournemouth
Sinfonietta with live electronics, to be premiered in the Hall
for Cornwall, Truro, on May 27th 1999.
Andrew Hugill has invited
schools across Cornwall to send him short sound-bites of their own creation.
These will form the basis for the Symphony. Using new technologies, he will
transform and develop these prime sounds into musical material from which the
Symphony will be made.
This website is designed
to monitor that process. Just follow the links to go to whatever interests you.
